What do we do?
After you have been registered with us, you will be assigned a youth protector. This youth protector keeps an eye on your safety and brothers or sisters if there are any. The youth protector involves people who are important to you and your parents. We work according to 3 phases based on 9 principles.
Phase 1
In the first phase, we will discuss why you and your family are involved with Jeugdbescherming West. In our conversations with you, we talk about when it is safe for you (and your brothers and sisters): what situations are we talking about and how can we work together to ensure that this does not happen again.
We write this down in a safety plan, and create a change plan together. In this change plan, we will work to find out how the situation arose and how we will work together to prevent this from happening in the future.
Phase 2
In the second phase, we will implement the plan together with you and your parent(s) and the people around you, sometimes with extra help. Your youth protector will monitor this process.
Phase 3
When all objectives are achieved, the third and final phase begins. In this phase we look at what else you need to maintain the positive development and who can continue to support you in the future if necessary.
